Free Halloween Things to Do in Morris, Minooka and Channahon (2026)
Halloween around here doesn't have to cost a thing. Between downtown trick-or-treating, a few trunk or treats, a parade, and a library that hands out free books to kids in costume, there's a lot going on in Morris, Minooka, and Channahon these last two weeks of October.
I rounded up the free ones I know about. Plans change (especially with Illinois weather in late October), so tap the link before you head out.

Witches Night Out: Friday, October 23
This one's more of a grown-up night out than a kids event. Downtown Morris businesses stay open late for festive shopping and seasonal fun, and it's a great excuse to grab a few friends and walk around downtown. It's free to stroll. What you buy is up to you 🤪

Thinking about a move around here?
This time of year is honestly one of my favorite parts of living in Grundy County. Downtown Morris all lit up, the Minooka parade, kids running around Dollinger Farm in costume. It's the small-town stuff that makes people fall for these towns.
