Things To Do This Weekend in Morris IL (and Channahon): September 12-13
Looking for something to do this weekend? You've got options, and a few of them are happening within a few miles of each other. Here's what's on my radar for Morris and Channahon this Saturday and Sunday.
3 French Hens Country Market — Saturday, September 12
8am-2pm, Downtown Morris
If you're a Saturday-morning-errands kind of person, swing through downtown Morris for the 3 French Hens Country Market. Antiques, handmade crafts, and fresh local finds, all in one walk down the block. It's an easy way to start the day and support small local vendors while you're at it.
Morris Cruise Night — Saturday, September 12
6pm-9pm, Liberty Street, Morris
Bring the family down to Liberty Street for Morris Cruise Night. Hundreds of classic cars, trucks, and hot rods line the street, and it's the kind of low-key evening where you end up chatting with half the people you run into. Good one for kids too, they love the loud engines.
Flotsam River Circus — Sunday, September 13
6pm-7:30pm, William G. Stratton State Park
This one's a little different. A traveling circus performs on a boat along the Illinois River, right at Stratton Park. It's free, it's genuinely strange in the best way, and it's not something that comes through Grundy County very often. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket and grab a spot on the grass. Parking is available at Stratton Park.
Channahon Farmers Market — Sunday, September 13
9am-2pm, Channahon Tractor Supply
If you're on the Channahon side of things this weekend, the farmers market at Channahon Tractor Supply is worth the stop. Fresh produce, local vendors, and treats to grab on your way through. Good way to round out the weekend before Monday hits.
